I’m John Dunphy, and along with my wife Lynn, we’re the founders of Target Tours.
My background in travel stretches back to 1987 when I began my career in the travel agency business. In 2006, I obtained my commercial motor coach license. Lynn and I led our first bus tour of excited fans to a NASCAR race in New Hampshire.
This became our “Aha!” moment as we watched the passengers’ smiling faces, saw them living out their dreams and forming new friendships. In that moment, we realized we had found our true purpose. It became clear to us that guided travel isn’t just a vacation – it’s a way to enrich our lives and experience travel with like minded people.
This revelation led me and Lynn to create Target Tours in 2009, with a mission to share the joy of simplified guided vacations with as many people as possible.
We would be remiss to not mention that throughout these years, our phenomenal team has been the cornerstone of our success. From the dedicated office staff to our enthusiastic and professional Tour Hosts, every member has played a pivotal role in shaping our company into what it is today.

From simple day tours on PEI to more extensive tours to Europe, attention to detail and
organization combine for a memorable travel experience. John will act as Tour Director
for some of his favourite tours such as river cruises and Europe.
As well as planning tours, John sometimes travels with the group as a Tour Host making
sure all the little details are being taken care of.
John and Lynn have two beautiful daughters, Sarah and Lindsay, son-in-law, Ben and
their treasured granddaughter, Lily.

Every detail is in place. John and Lynn go above and beyond to make the experience as comfortable, entertaining, educational and as FUN as is possible. The staff at TT certainly are a Team… there is no question or concern ever dismissed as being unimportant. Any minor ‘glitches’ that may occur during the tour are handled immediately by John and/or Lynn. They are so accommodating in making each individual comfortable while ensuring gathering as a group is equally as comfortable, organized and enjoyable!
